About Me

Cherie Halterman, CD(DONA)

From the moment I began my own journey with trying to conceive, I became drawn to all things childbirth. I soaked up all the information I could on how to have my best birth. I learned to trust my body, trust the birth process, and trust my own birth instincts. Through preparation and the grace of my own body, I had two amazing birth experiences! One in a hospital and one at home. Now that my days of pregnancy and birth have come to an end, I want to support others in learning to trust their birth instincts and to have their own best birth. I trained with DONA International in 2020 and became certified in April 2021. I have attended 2 Spinning Babies workshops, so am versed in prenatal exercises and birth positions to help with optimal fetal positions. I have taken an advanced doula course through VBAC Link. I am also CPR/First Aid certified through the Red Cross and certified in Neonatal Resuscitation. As a birth doula, I value preserving the environment created by the birthing person and their partner. I feel it is my job to respect their space and support them both in a way that meets their needs and expectations. In addition to doula work, I have assist a couple of local midwives at home births. I have seen a good number of unmedicated, physiological births and have gained a great trust in our bodies and the birth process!

In 2025, I expanded my offerings to include childbirth education after finding many of my doula clients had gaps in their knowledge after trying to piece together their own information online and on social media.

Though my days are pretty full having adventures with my 7 and 9 year old sons, and working on my doula business, I still try to squeeze in things that fill my own cup. That may look like doing a craft, decorating a cake, or going for a walk, but often it's as simple as putting on a show I like and enjoying a sweet treat!
